REALLOCATE — Rethinking How We Move
The REALLOCATE project aims to rethink streets as spaces for life, not just for transport. Responding to the challenges of climate change, social isolation, and urban fragmentation, the project brings together experts, urban planners, transport professionals, and local communities to create safe, accessible, and environmentally friendly urban spaces.
REALLOCATE proposes an integrated approach to street transformation, involving the development of new models for the interaction between transport infrastructure and pedestrian environments. A key element is inclusion — ensuring equal access to urban space for all residents, including people with disabilities, children, and the elderly.
The Institute of the City represents Lviv as a replicator city. The main goal of its participation is to analyze and implement solutions tested in Barcelona, particularly those related to improving accessibility of public transport for people with limited mobility. This includes identifying barriers, developing action plans, and engaging the public in rethinking urban spaces.
The REALLOCATE project is implemented under the Horizon Europe program and promotes the development of human-centered cities, where streets become places of encounter, safety, and sustainable development.
