CIVINET Ukraine

CIVINET Ukraine is a local network of the European CIVITAS initiative, aimed at promoting sustainable urban transport in Ukraine. The platform brings together public, private, and civil society organizations working in the field of urban mobility, with the goal of disseminating innovative approaches to transport planning adapted to the Ukrainian context.

The coordination of activities is carried out from a center in Lviv, which provides a safe environment for meetings and active participation of municipalities, thanks to its geographic proximity to the EU and convenient transport connections. Through the organization of conferences, seminars, and other events, CIVINET Ukraine creates venues for experience sharing and the development of sustainable transport solutions.

The Institute of the City, acting as the Secretariat of the network, contributes its own expertise and partnerships with European institutions to build the capacity of local authorities. Within the project, pilot solutions for sustainable transport are being implemented, with the potential for scaling to other Ukrainian cities.

Special attention is paid to aligning local mobility strategies with European policies, as well as supporting cities in developing Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMP). CIVINET Ukraine strives to strengthen the capacity of municipalities in implementing mobility policies, ensuring access to knowledge, resources, and international cooperation.
